Carinthian festival calls for tolerance

With a series of high-quality cultural events the “European Tolerance Talks 2017” will be accompanied during Pentecost week. Film and theater performances (30 and 31 May) in Villach, jazz concerts (June 1 and 2), a “Long Night of Freedom” as well as readings and a poetry slam in Fresach deal with this year’s topic – the importance of civil courage and democratic culture in times of political uncertainty. The Festival of Tolerance is to grow further in the coming years, the organizers promise.

“This year, we offer our guests and participants well-packed social packs in artistic arrangements,” explains Hannes Swoboda, President of the Board. The theme is “The future of freedom – Europe’s civil society and the consequences of globalization”. Numerous representatives from science, art, culture, politics, business and civil society are discussing upcoming challenges and urgent problems. The tolerance talks are organized by Denk.Raum.Fresach for the third time. Further program details at http://www.fresach.org/en/enfestival-of-tolerance/
