Fresach nominated for European Award

The Carinthian mountain village of Fresach is among the finalists of the Austrian “European Award 2024”. The municipality was able to convince in the “Europe in the community” category with the European Tolerance Talks. With this project, Fresach is making a significant contribution to achieving the common goals of European understanding and strengthening European awareness, according to the expert jury. The European States Prize was created by the federal government in 2015 to mark Austria’s 20 years of EU membership and will be awarded for the eighth time in 2024 for outstanding projects and initiatives. The expert jury in the “Europe in the community” category is made up, among others, by the municipal association, the municipal magazine and the rural youth. The other categories are “Europe in Education”, “Europe in Art & Culture”, “Borderless Europe” and “Explaining Europe”. The prize money in each category is 5,000 euros.
