Europe between autocracy and dictatorship, the EU in a democracy dilemma: How to deal with the fantasies of omnipotence in East and West, and what answers are now needed to the energy and climate crises? At the European Tolerance Talks from May 17 to 24, 2026, in the Carinthian mountain village of Fresach, experts from philosophy, science, and economics will seek ways out of this double bind.
The conference program was presented on Thursday in Klagenfurt and again lists several well-known speakers. Historian and author Doron Rabinovici will deliver the opening address, and the panel will include bestselling author Dimitré Dinev, ARD correspondent Susanne Glass, Hungarian political scientist Melani Barlai, and EU Ambassador Thomas Peyker. Tickets for the week-long event can already be ordered; the moderate admission prices remain unchanged.
