Schulz to open Tolerance Talks with video message

The President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz will open the first European Tolerance Talks in the Carinthian mountain village Fresach next Friday (22nd May). Because of another urgent commitment in the Latvian capital Riga his speech will be presented in the form of a video message. Schulz was invited by DRF-President Hannes Swoboda as a friend and supporter of the DENK.RAUM.FRESACH. He received the International Charlemagne Prize in Aachen just last week. As a thought leader Schulz has strengthened the European Parliament and the European integration, the Board of the Charlemagne Prize emphasized. Thursday night the Talks are opened in Villach by a reception of Mayor Günther Albel and the governor of Carinthia, Peter Kaiser, for the celebrity guests and authors. The Federal President of Austria, Heinz Fischer, will participate. Federal Chancellor Werner Faymann has announced to contribute a press conference before the reception. Initiatives like the European Tolerance Talks are important and welcome just today, said Faymann. Even the ORF Carinthia will align its program in accordance with the event. The entire Thursday program “Servus, Srečno, Ciao” will be broadcasted live from a ORF car in front of the Holiday Inn at the Europaplatz in Villach.
